„mpito school network“: Finalist of the „Engagementpreis der Studienstiftung 2017“
The Wuppertal „mpito school network e.V” was nominated as a finalist for the “weitergeben – Engagementpreis der Studienstiftung 2017”. The mpito team around the PhD student and scholar Patrick Kletzka operates a network by and for community schools in the slums of Nairobi (Kenya). Mpito was founded in 2015 as a result of a project by the student group ‘Enactus’.
38 initiatives applied for the Engagementpreis endowed with 5.000€. The “Studienstiftung” explained the nomination for mpito as follows: “The Judges were impressed by the initiative to connect community schools in Nairobi to increase the quality of the schools and ensure sustainable development.”
